Centre for Climate Change and Sustainable Development (CCCSD)

Climate change is the most significant challenge to achieving sustainable development, and it threatens to drag millions of people into grinding poverty. It is severely affecting every country on every continent. It is disrupting national economies and affecting lives, costing people, communities and countries dearly today and even more tomorrow. Weather patterns are changing, sea levels are rising, weather events are becoming more extreme and greenhouse gas emissions are now at their highest levels in history. Without immediate action, the world’s average surface temperature is likely to surpass 3 degrees centigrade this century. The poorest and most vulnerable people are being affected the most. The global agenda of Sustainable Development requires a consorted effort of the world community. CCCSD focuses its attention on the extensive study and research on the issue of climate change and environmental challenges. The aim is to bring about policy formulations that help in building an efficacious framework to combat climate change and ensure sustainable growth at a global level.
