Our Difference

Jagran School of Public Policy & International Affairs is a blend of the best that the university and the governmental leadership, civil society and thinkers have to offer.

We shall be different because our work is shaped by the needs of local governance and variety of sectors. We aim to develop high quality, relevant and applicable work that will make a real and tangible impact in the environments in which we work. Much of our work will have a sector development focus and is guided by:

  • the expressed needs, gaps and areas of interest identified by our stakeholders, clients and the government sector more broadly
  • Our international partners and their research and experience
  • The specific objectives of research projects commissioned by governments or industry

As part of a university we have access to the best specialists, academics and their latest thinking, across a range of disciplines. Forming sector partnerships help shape our research agenda, and we often contribute toward sector capacity building based on our research by undertaking specific projects we feel will have a broader benefit or application.

Our activities will promote scholarly exchange and practitioner dissemination of research findings. These activities include seminar series, round-tables, visiting academics, publication of papers, conference papers, presentations to professional and industry groups and information exchanges with international local government organizations.

Jagran School of Public Policy & International Affairs is aimed to be an outstanding intellectual environment for world-class teaching & learning, research engaging international scholars and government and policy communities. We aim to examine and critique the capacity, accountability and sustainability of the public service and government, providing insights into improved management structures. By working closely with governmental and non-governmental partners, we propose to make a tangible mark on governance research and capacity building.

The School’s faculty members represent diverse disciplines and research interests. They aim to influence policy dialogue and public opinion through publications, public lectures and writing in the media. They also hold memberships in many influential policy-related committees in India and abroad. The members regularly publish research papers on a variety of issues in peer-reviewed journals.
