About the Conference:
The Centre for Gender Studies, Research & Development established under the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, functioning under the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Humanities, Jagran Lakecity University is pleased to invite you to participate in two-days international conference on “Towards Gender Equality: Overpowering Structural Barriers and Reclaiming Agency”, with the aim of bringing together a global cross-section of scholars, practitioners, policy makers and professionals from various colleges, universities and industries to a common platform, making it interdisciplinary in approach, to explore measures towards a gender-just society.
In order to overpower the barriers and to achieve gender equality, it becomes very important to understand and then try to overcome them. Particularly, it has been observed that when members of the marginalized gender are provided the tools and opportunities they need to flourish in the careers of their choice, the whole society benefits. Times are changing and we have seen more and more such people entering underrepresented fields and being recognized for their work. There are still many challenges and we have a lot to achieve yet.
