Mr. Rajkumar Varier is the Head of Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs at ABP Network and ABP Studios. Mr. Varier is A Corporate Lawyer with over 20+ years’ experience in cross-cultural, multi business and multi-national environment. He has previously worked with Star India as a Group General Counsel, Samsung India Ltd & Bharti Airtel Ltd. He led the Litigation, IPR & Customer Services in Samsung India Ltd.

About the Speaker

Mr. Rajkumar Varier is a law graduate from Delhi university. He is a corporate lawyer he is currently working as Head of Public Policy Regulatory Affairs, in ABP News ABP Creations. He has previously worked with Star India as a Group General Counsel, Samsung India Ltd Bharti Airtel Ltd. He led the Litigation, IPR Customer Services in Samsung India Ltd. A Corporate Lawyer with over 20+ years’ experience in cross-cultural, multi business and multi-national environment. An energetic self-starter with exceptional analytical, organizational, leadership and creative skills, with a talent for evaluating problems, developing and simplifying procedures and finding innovative solutions.

Earlier heading the Legal Department in Den Networks Limited a conglomerate of around 150 JVs. The lead business being MSO Cable distribution business. Also into broadband, Teleretail through Snapdeal JV and owns a football team Delhi dyanamos. The issues handled range from handling of complex contracts, MA, litigations, sports laws, taxation , Regulatory and Compliance. Recently was awarded Rising Star Award by the Legal Era. Prior to DEN close to a years experiance to lead the Litigation, IPR and Customer Service in Samsung India Electronics Limited.

Took the challenge coupled with desire for change and blessed with opprtunity of working in a world class global company which belonged to a new Industry never ever experienced. In the shortest stint could achieve great results in IPR , Customer Service issues and complex litigation and opportunity to deal and come up with solutions consistent to global practice . Despite the short stint moved on with respect, great learnings and experience. Handled Litigations and Regulatory Investigations for Bharti Airtel Limited. Also headed and Responsible for the Legal and compliance function for Airtel DTH, Airtel Money and VAS business throughout India and engaged in Senior level and Top Management decision making. Playing Key role of driving Industry Level Issues and the OSS and face for Airtel for Telecom Industry on all litigations and contentious issues.
